Forster Dean Direct is a specialist personal injury division of Forster Dean Solicitors, a leading UK law firm.
With more cars on the road than ever before and people leading busier lives it sadly means that road traffic accidents are not an uncommon occurrence. Being involved in a road traffic accident can have a significant impact on your life and the life of your family and loved ones.
Injuries sustained from such accidents can include whiplash, bruising and minor sprains to serious injuries such as head and spinal injuries, and even the loss of limbs. These injuries can greatly impact your daily life, as well as your future. If you’ve been the victim of a road traffic accident that wasn’t your fault then you may be entitled to make a claim for compensation.
Here at Forster Dean we don’t just focus on the pure financial implications but on matters such as rehabilitation, the emotional effect that a road traffic accident can leave you with, and the practical day-to-day issues that you have to adapt to.
If you’ve been a victim of a road traffic accident then speak to one or our specialists who can start the claims process for you today. Call us on 0800 083 0117 or use our online contact form.
// How long will the claim take?
A straightforward claim can be resolved in 2-3 months. More complex cases can be resolved in 6 to 12 months and a minority of cases can take over 12 months from start to finish.
// What compensation will I receive?
The amount of compensation will be assessed once a medical report has been obtained. Think about keeping a diary to record how you feel as the days pass.
Other financial losses and expenses
Any past or future financial loss which arises from the accident can be claimed as part of the claim. Examples include loss of earnings, travel expenses and care and assistance provided by family or friends. Keep receipts for any costs as evidence and keep a note of help you received because of the accident.
// What are the time limits for making a claim?
Our best advice regarding time limits is to obtain legal advice as soon as you can. Court proceedings must be started within three years of the date of the accident if it occurred in England and Wales.
Different time limits may apply if the accident happened abroad.
// What will it cost?
We deal with all claims on a no win, no fee basis. If a claim does not succeed we will not charge a fee for our costs in dealing with it.
We require our clients to contribute to the costs incurred in making the claim by entering into an agreement with us to receive a success fee. This is only payable if the claim is successful and will be deducted from the compensation that you receive.
All clients may be offered an After The Event insurance product which removes the risk of paying any outside costs if the claim does not succeed. The policy is provided by a leading insurance company and the premium is only payable in the event that the claim is successful.
